Empowering Students for the Future: Junior Achievement SW Ontario

For more than six decades, Junior Achievement South Western Ontario (JA SWO) has been helping young people build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in work and in life. Through hands-on programs in financial health, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, JA reaches students from Grade 4 through high school, equipping them to make smart choices and dream big about their futures.

At the heart of JA’s success are its dedicated volunteers, who bring real-world experience into classrooms across the region. Their interactive approach helps students connect lessons to everyday life through discussions, digital tools, and activities that make learning meaningful.

With financial literacy now part of Ontario’s education curriculum, teachers are seeking engaging, age-appropriate resources. JA’s Financial Learning Experiences program fills that need with lessons designed by educators and aligned with curriculum standards and making it easy for teachers to register and for volunteers to deliver learning that lasts.

“What I enjoyed most about the program is how it taught me to make smart choices about my money.”  Grade 7 Student

The Sifton Family Foundation is proud to support the expansion of JA SWO’s Financial Learning Experiences program through a multi-year grant to help bring these valuable lessons to more classrooms and inspiring financially confident, community-minded leaders of tomorrow.
