A Year of Record Giving - 2025 Year in Review

In 2025, the Sifton Family Foundation reached a new milestone, giving a record $907,496 including 43 grants worth $791,282 and $116,214 in matched employee donations.

This funding supported programs that foster literacy, play, mental health, food security, and housing for children, families, and vulnerable community members across Southwestern Ontario

Key Areas of Focus

Learning & Literacy – $123,808
Supporting early learning, literacy, and skill development for children and youth through programs delivered by London Symphonia, Action Read Guelph, the Learning Disabilities Association of London, Scientist in School, Start2Finish, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Junior Achievement Southwestern Ontario, Strong Start London, and Investing in Children.

Play & Recreation – $138,400
Expanding access to therapeutic recreation and play-based experiences for children facing illness, disabilities, or financial barriers through ChildCan, the Brain Injury Association, Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners, Children’s Foundation of Guelph & Wellington, London Children’s Museum, SARI Therapeutic Riding, and Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario.

Mental Health & Wellbeing – $157,674
Supporting mental health, emotional well-being, and caregiver resilience for children, youth, parents, and seniors through programs delivered by Why Not City Missions, Community Counselling Centre of London, Kids Can Fly, SWIM, Big Brothers Big Sisters of London, Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario, Shine Through the Rain, and The Darling Home for Kids.

Food Security – $136,400
Improving access to nutritious food, food literacy, and emergency support for children, seniors, and families through Lakeside Hope House, South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre, Nutrition for Learning, Child Hunger Brantford, Food4Kids, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, and the London Food Coalition.

Housing Security – $175,000
Strengthening access to affordable and supportive housing for veterans, individuals with mental health challenges, and families through Can-Voice, Renos for Heroes, Homes for Heroes, and Homes Unlimited.

Special Initiatives - $60,000
We honored the legacy of longtime board member, the late Rick Vandertuin with a tribute grant to the Children’s Aid Society in support students in post-secondary education. We also helped local families enjoy the holiday season with $50,000 in targeted poverty relief programs to five local organizations.

Employee Matching – $116,214

We continued to support the generosity of Sifton employees by matching their charitable donations, including contributions made through the Sifton United Way campaign.
