Investing in Hope: Supporting London’s Veteran Village

The Sifton Family Foundation is pleased to provide a $100,000 grant to Homes For Heroes Foundation in support of the new London Veteran Village which is a supportive, dignified community where veterans can heal, rebuild, and thrive.

To be built on the grounds of Parkwood Institute in London, the Village will include 25 tiny homes, a resource centre, community gardens, and comprehensive wrap-around supports. Construction is expected to begin in March, with the Village opening in late summer 2026.

A Pathway Forward for Veterans

For veterans who have faced housing insecurity, trauma, or the challenges of reintegration, the London Veteran Village will provide more than housing, it will offer a pathway forward. Rooted in respect, community, and opportunity, the village is designed to foster independence, personal growth, and long-term stability.

Residents will have access to specialized supports tailored to their needs, including one-on-one counselling, group therapy sessions, and additional programming delivered in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada and local social service agencies. Veterans are identified and connected to the program through these collaborative partnerships, ensuring that those most in need can access care in a safe, stable, and supportive environment.

A Holistic Model of Care

The London Veteran Village reflects a comprehensive approach to addressing veteran homelessness. By combining permanent supportive housing with coordinated services, the model enables residents to overcome personal challenges while building skills for long-term success.

The goal is for each resident to achieve stability, secure employment, and attain the ability to live independently. Through structured programming, peer support, and access to community resources, the village will create an environment where veterans are empowered to rebuild their lives with dignity.

The Sifton Family Foundation is proud to support this transformative initiative and to invest in a future where veterans in our community have the stability, care, and opportunity they deserve.
